Ways to enhance navigation for your deliverable

This article covers navigational controls available to experiences.

Navigation sits under settings and provides various options to help creators when building learning.

Navigation Settings

For each experience type, under navigation there are two main options.

  • Navigation

  • Menu

Default - multi-page

Navigation for Default - Multi page displays:

  • Previous Page Navigation - this displays an arrow and previous page title at the top of the screen, allowing the user to navigate back to the previous page.

  • Show Progress Bar - which displays at the top of the screen.

  • Show Scroll Up Arrow - this control sits on the right bottom corner. When you reach near the end of a longer page, it will display an icon to take you back to the top of that page.

  • Show Footer Nav - this displays footer controls to navigate to the next or previous. There are various footer types an author can select.

Menus available for Default:

  • None - no menu is used.

  • Header - A menu bar is displayed at the top of the page.

  • Linear - a simple navigation look and feel.

  • Overlay - a menu which overlays fullscreen.

  • Floating - a floating popup menu positioned in a corner.

  • Sidebar - a sidebar menu fixed or offset on the left or right side.

Scroll

Navigation for Scroll displays:

  • Show Progress Bar - which displays at the top of the screen.

  • Show Scroll Up Arrow - this control sits on the right bottom corner. When you reach the end, it will display an icon to take you back to the start.

Menus available for Scroll:

  • None - no menu is used.

  • Header - A menu bar is displayed at the top of the page.

  • Linear - a simple navigation look and feel.

  • Overlay - a menu which overlays fullscreen.

  • Floating - a floating popup menu positioned in a corner.

  • Sidebar - a sidebar menu fixed or offset on the left or right side.

Micro

Navigation for Micro displays:

  • Show Progress Bar - which displays at the top of the screen.

  • Show Next Arrow - this control sits on the right bottom corner. Clicking takes you to the next slide. When you reach the end, it will display an icon to take you back to the start.

  • Use Continuous Scroll - Toggle on allows the user to scroll continuously. If turned off on click a page, or slide will display. A user can scroll within a section when multiple joined layouts. The deliverable does not scroll continuously forcing the user to stop and view each slide's content.

Menus available for Micro:

  • None - no menu is used.

  • Linear - a simple navigation look and feel.

  • Overlay - a menu which overlays fullscreen.

  • Arrows - a basic arrow navigation style menu.

  • Floating - a floating popup menu positioned in a corner.
