About

Menus help users navigate learning.

Menus are found under Settings and Navigation. There are various menu styles that can be applied to a template including no menu.

Once on page, a menu can be selected, and then edited in the popup.

Let's look at the different main menu types.

  • Sidebar. This menu type is commonly seen in courses. Like all styles, sidebar has a several controls available. Sidebar also features an offset style.

  • Floating. This menu type sits in one of the four corners.

  • Overlay. This menu type is a full-page overlay.

πŸ‘‹ Sidebar, Floating, and the Overlay menu type can have imagery applied. All are responsive and will work on mobile. Other advanced controls are available on each of these menu types. For example, showing progress. This flexibility is particularly helpful if one deliverable is a course, and then another is a handbook, where progress may not be required to be displayed in the menu.

The other three menu types are:

  • Linear. This menu type has three style options available (Number, Dots, Dash) and can be positioned in different locations on a screen. The linear menu type is particularly helpful for navigating a scroll or micro experience.

  • Header. This menu style can be placed at the top of the page or be placed second. The header menu is flexible. Examples of where it might be used are a user guide, or a microsite deliverable. There is a range of options to style the header menu.

  • Arrows. This simple menu style is used in micro experiences and is particularly helpful for mobile centric learning.
